As the hunt continues for the best burger in the district, we decided to check out Bareburger, a farm-to-table eatery located right by Dupont Circle.
Right on the corner of 20th and R Street, the low-key restaurant has plenty of seating, both outdoors and inside.
The two of us are always on the hunt for a decent burger, and Bareburger definitely hit the mark. The complimentary fries were even better.
The inside of the Dupont location is split up into two sections: the main dining room and a more private porch area. The main dining room is more of a big group environment and the inside porch area is a quiet and smaller group environment.
You read correctly: if you show the awesome staff your AU student ID, they’ll give you fries on the house.
Although not free, the burgers were also noteworthy. Z got the Supreme burger with the sweet potato fries. The Supreme burger is a beef patty with American cheese, black forest bacon, onion rings, chopped fries, green leaf, special sauce, on a brioche bun.
A got the Buckaroo burger, with fresh beef, aged cheddar, smoked brisket, wild mushrooms, smoke sauce, on a brioche bun.
If you’re looking for something outside of a classic burger, these renditions should be on your radar.
Also of note to us was the large menu Bareburger has to offer. There are extensive options for vegans and vegetarians. If your friend group has a variety of dietary restrictions, Bareburger is a place you should check out. They even have specialty vegan “milk” shakes!
Overall, the restaurant is a great addition to the many great places in the Dupont Circle area. If you are ever looking for a quick burger with a short wait, definitely hit up Bareburger.
