When the politics of DC and academics of AU gets suffocating and you need a quick getaway, Clarendon, located in Arlington, VA., is the place for you. I’d go out on a limb and say it’s similar to Bethesda, just a bit more bustling and entertaining. With endless amounts of restaurants (which is enough of an attraction for me) there are also great stores located in “Market Common” and there’s even a whole ass Trader Joes right outside the metro stop (conveniently where I meet my aunt who lives nearby... every time.)  I’ve never gone to any of the clubs there, but I highly recommend checking some of them out and getting back to us with your reviews - Spider Kelly’s and The Clarendon Ballroom are just a few. What’s great is that it’s metro accessible, but ngl, it’s a bit of a hike. Once you get to Metro Center, you transfer onto the silver or orange line, and hop off soon after Rosslyn - otherwise you can splurge for a Lyft (cost pending based on time of day.)  Pictured with this section is one of my FAVORITE places in all of the DMV areas, it’s called Northside Social and wowowow it is so good. They serve homemade baked goods - I once had their Nutella pop tart and met god herself with each bite. They hold wine and beer tastings and even art shows. It’s truly the perfect place to get away and spend hours doing work and eating great food or sipping on the latest latte trend. Find a weekend to dedicate some time checking out these places and let us know what you think, but I guarantee you won’t be disappointed.
